About Build Crystal

Tired of AI pitches that don't survive the real world?

Same. We build workers — not platforms, not copilots, not dashboards. You hire one, we build it, we run it. One role at a time. Day one is rough. Day 30 it's genius.

Why this exists

Hiring is broken. AI keeps pretending the answer is a dashboard.

Small businesses lose weeks to hiring. Post the job. Screen forty resumes. Phone-screen the ones that can write a sentence. Interview the short list. Pick one. Train them for three months. Then watch half of them leave inside a year. Every week the seat sits open is a week of missed calls and overworked staff covering for it.

Meanwhile, every AI company wants to sell you a platform to configure yourself. Prompt templates. Workflow builders. "Just wire it up." That's not help. That's homework.

We wanted to sell help, not homework.

Day one is rough. Day 30 it's genius. Every correction sticks, every night it reviews what it learned, and it shows up the next morning a little better than it was.

How we run Build Crystal

We take our own medicine.

Build Crystal runs with one human employee — Austin — and a team of AI workers. The same workers we hire out to customers.

The receptionist that picks up when you call is one of ours. The L1 desk answering support tickets from our own customers is one of ours. Scheduling, intake, the boring paperwork in between — same shop, same workers. When we ship a new role, it lives inside Build Crystal before it goes anywhere near your business.

If the receptionist drops a call, we lose the customer — not you. If the L1 confidently answers wrong, we eat the ticket — not you. We pay the cost of our own mistakes first.

If you want to know whether it works, you're already in the demo. Pick up the phone.

What's shipping, right now

Two workers live, three more in training.

Live Inside Build Crystal

Receptionist

Answers calls, books and reschedules, takes messages, routes judgment calls. In use as the front desk for Build Crystal. Available for customer deployments.

Live Crystal customer support

Support Rep

Works the support inbox and ticket queue — routine questions, order status, account questions — and routes judgment calls to a human. Running our own customer support desk inside Build Crystal. Available for customer deployments.

In training Next three

Intake, bookkeeper, scheduler

Three more roles getting trained up right now. Getting in early lets you shape what the worker does from day one. Tell us the seat you're trying to fill and we'll tell you if it's on the next cut.

How a working session actually goes

15 minutes. No pitch deck.

We don't do demos. We do working sessions. You tell us the seat you're trying to fill, the tools you use, the pay range, and what's been driving you crazy about the role.

We tell you honestly whether we can cover it, how much it would run, and what the first 28 days would look like. If we can't cover it, we say so. If we can cover it but you shouldn't buy it yet, we say that too. If we can cover it and you should, we set a start date for the pilot.

No slide deck. No "intro to AI." Just the seat and the math.

Things we're not going to do

What we won't do.

  • Sell you a tool to configure yourself. We're a managed service. If you want a prompt builder, Zapier has one.
  • Pretend setup is a click. Setup takes 3 to 5 days. We come out, we onboard the worker, we hang out while it ramps.
  • Pretend day one is genius. Day one is rough. Same as any new hire. That's the honest part.
  • Sell a multi-agent platform before one worker is proven. One role. One worker. One customer at a time.
